Product Description
Comforting and adorable, the Twilight Turtle nightlight projects a complete starry night sky onto the walls and ceiling of any room, making night-time less scary and more fun. Choose from three soothing color options to create a magical, tranquil environment that helps children from age three and up to ease into restful sleep.
Artful, Soothing and Educational
The winner of several industry awards, including the Editor's Choice blue ribbon from Baby Talk, each Twilight Turtle is individually hand painted for a unique, artful look that complements any nursery or children's room. Plush and soft, with a sturdy plastic shell, this nightlight is best placed on the floor in the center of the room, where it projects a starry night sky onto the ceiling and walls. For interactive fun, parents can also sit with their children and identify and describe the features of eight major constellations, including the Big Dipper and the Big Bear, with the help of the beautifully illustrated Star Guide. The Twilight Turtle also includes a warm-hearted story about how Twilight Turtle, separated from his father, uses the constellations to find his way home. User-Friendly Operation
Simply pressing the button on the turtle's shell ignites the stars and keeps them glowing for a full 45 minutes--just enough time for most children to drift into sleep. At this point, the Twilight Turtle automatically shuts off to preserve battery life. Another push of the button reactivates the projection. In addition, the easy selection of the three soothing color choices allows your child not only to learn to identify different colors, but also to truly experience them as well. Amber radiates warmth and peace; green creates a healing and renewing atmosphere; and blue helps calm the senses. The soft, illuminating glow the Twilight Turtle emits also serves as a nightlight that makes the darkness less frightening.
Makes a Great Gift
A great gift for children who are afraid of the dark, or even adults who have trouble falling asleep, the Twilight Turtle runs on three "AAA" batteries (included). It also comes with a certification of adoption, and measures a compact 14.0 x 5.0 inches (WxH), so it's easy to display and store.

Customer Reviews
I had seen these turtles in a magazine and thought they were creative and unique. When shopping in a local store, I found them sitting on the shelf...and bought 2 of them, one for each of my daughters' birthdays (turning 1 and turning 5). They were given recently and both girls love them.It took some figuring to find the right placement so the stars would show up as best as possible on the ceiling. And like other reviews have said, the amger stars don't show up real well...but the green and blue work really well. They add a soft, subtle light to the room without being too bright. Both girls - especially the 1-year-old - like staring at the stars at lights out time. I like the 45-minute timer...plenty of time for the girls to fall asleep, but not on all night.
I don't know how much of an educational aspect the turtles offer, as the constellations are a bit tricky to see, even with the included star charts. However, I wasn't looking for a teaching tool in the turltes, I was more interested in the unique night light. I have a feeling both girls will get a lot of use out of their turtles.
Overall, I think these are a great concept and would recommend them.
This turtle may seem on the pricey side if you were just looking for a nightlight for your child, but it is well, well worth it. Our son just turned three and has had it for years - but still asks for it every night. BLUE, BLUE he says (he likes the blue stars in it). And it really puts a LOT of stars on the ceiling. Beats getting the 'glow in the dark' stars and trying to stick those on a 10-foot ceiling. Turtle stays on a long time too - so very rarely do we hear him 'scream' that he wants his turtle back on (since it's dark after that) - but if so, after turning it on one more time, back to sleep.
One small note, it DOES have a 'on/off' switch on bottom. Didn't know this at one point and pressed too hard on the ON/OFF button on the TOP of it and broke it through (there is the switch on bottom and 'press' button on top for your child). We now have to use a metal ink pen to turn it on, but hey, it's still going strong. So lesson here: if it's not working, don't press too hard, check the bottom switch! :)
